As business people, there are SO MANY social platforms that we have to navigate. It can feel overwhelming at times! When I first started out, I was suspicious of Instagram. I wasn't sure that I needed to use it, to be honest. But I went to a conference where the speaker told us that we NEEDED to be on Instagram, and after hours and hours of research, I know that he's right. Proper Instagram technique can drive engagement and real results in your business.

These steps WORK! In just one month, I doubled my Instagram following and engagement.
🔮What's Your Purpose? Create your business profile and establish its purpose. WHY are you on Instagram? Keep your business channel separate from your personal profile - your business followers don't need to see kitty pictures every day. Business profiles should be strategic and consistent!
🔮What's In A Name? Set up your Instagram handle, your profile image, and your bio so that viewers will know who you are and what you do within 5 seconds of landing on your profile. If you confuse, you lose! Strive for consistency in branding across platforms, so your followers can find you wherever they go.
🔮 Planning Is Your Friend. If you want your account to grow, your theme, messaging, and hashtags must be strategically planned. Your themes (4-5) should be consistent and spaced throughout your calendar. Don't forget to strategize your hashtag use! Research hashtags you'd like to engage with, take a look at the number of posts associated with that hashtag, and use hashtags that are a mix of low-number hashtags that can help you personally brand and mid-sized hashtags with about 50,000 posts.
🔮Take a Look at Your Content. Work with your content to achieve clean formatting within your 2200 character allowance. Aim to post 1-3x per day with clear, focused content. Each post should serve a specific purpose: to educate, to inspire, to entertain, or to engage, and every post should provide value.
🔮No Ugly Posts Allowed. Your Instagram page shouldn't give someone a headache because it's confusing or ugly! Make all of your posts aesthetically pleasing. Follow your brand and create a posting pattern - nothing should be random!
