The following are our company guidelines, our manifesto.

Whether you work for our luminary team, or are partaking in our of our empowerment experiences (products, coaching, etc.), this manifesto speaks to who we commit to be on this epic journey we call life and in our engagements with you! And if you're a customer, these are the community values that you commit to in your own life! 

  1. Customer Obsessed  - We exist, quite literally, to empower our users. Every decision that is made at by our team is made with our customers wellbeing in mind. Part of this value includes humility- making the time to make sure we truly understand our user, we don’t make assumptions of who they are or what they want. It includes bringing joy to every user interaction. Finally, it encompasses empowerment, a word that is absolutely core to our work — every day we are obsessively thinking, how can we best help empower you?
  2. Care, Positivity, and Contribution - Luminaries CARE. We care because we have been in a place where we weren't standing in our power, and we know that through our empowerment experiences we can transform lives, as our lives have been transformed. Luminaries are kind--this means that we are intentional about being friendly, generous in spirit and thinking, and considerate to ourselves and each other. Luminaries choose positivity -it's the courageous thing to do. Being pessimistic or cynical is the easy way out, and we are too focused, engaged, committed on our work to waste any time on anything that won’t uplift ourselves, our companies, our loved ones, our community, and world. Finally, we take our caring beyond just words. Five percent of all product sales go towards empowering entrepreneurs and children in the poorest countries around the world, and to making this world a better place for us all via philanthropy. 
  3. Honey Badgers- If there is an animal that best exemplifies luminaries, it would be the honey badger. We’re not scared of the hard and the uncomfortable, and we’re ridiculously resourceful. We take pride in our honey badger ways. Obstacle ahead? Honey badger don’t care. We’re not afraid of hard work — heck, we welcome it! We are wildly resourceful and have an uncanny ability to precipitate resources. No doesn’t exist in our vocabulary, there is always a way to get it done.
  4. Growth Ninjas- We consider self-teaching/learning to be of HUGE value in our team. We are ALWAYS pushing ourselves to learn something new. We read books, read papers, get advice from experts, watch documentaries, take online classes, watch Youtube tutorials like it’s nobody’s business, do trainings to become better at what we do, and we continue growing and evolving in all areas of our lives. We are not asked to learn, learning and growing is part of our DNA and you couldn’t stop us from going out to learn even if you wanted to.
  5. Extreme Initiative and Ownership- Execution, execution, execution. Luminaries are people who take the initiative and aren’t waiting to be told what to do. If we have an assignment, we do what it takes to get it done, and no one has to check-in on us to make sure it was done well. If things are not going as planned, we take ownership and responsibility over the situation and we drive the steps that need to be taken to make sure we reach our objective. We (over)communicate with our team, as collaboration and communication are key to successful execution.
  6. BOLDness- Luminaries are BOLD. Being bold means that we think big, think outside the box, push the envelope, deconstruct old ways of thinking and seeing the world and come up with innovative, more efficient, accessible, and more inclusive ways to do things and create our product. Impossible? Pssshhh- try us.
  7. Humor, Fun, and Celebration- Luminaries make it a point to have fun, celebrate our big and small wins along the way, and get a few laughs in. We support and uplift every Luminary, and make it our job to make sure that everyone who is part of this community leaves each interaction a better person, and also a happier, loved person through every interaction they have with us. We celebrate each person’s wins, are each other’s biggest cheerleaders, and make sure to have fun along the way!
  8. Transparency and Authenticity- We are internally and externally transparent, and we are real. We are excellent communicators and communicate often, we collaborate and share resources with our team and tribe. We are transparent with our goals and progress to reach our goals. We are data obsessed. We love numbers and data. As a company, we are transparent with our users and community with our policies, our values, and our goals. Finally, we are real. We share our real journey and don't hide behind a facade of perfection--we're all on the journey together.  
  9. Go BIG or Go Home - Luminaries are not here to play small. We are here to be ALL that we want to be, and we’re not hiding, dimming our light, or settling for “good enough.” We allow ourselves to go after the BIGGEST, BRIGHTEST, and HAPPIEST version of our life. We focus on thriving in ALL major parts of our life (the Luminary Top Ten). 
  10. Diversity- Luminaries value diversity. Diversity of thought, lived experience, socio-economic backgrounds, race, religion, gender preference, you name it. When you are part of our tribe should know that you can bring your whole (badass) self to our empowerment spaces. We make it a point to be good listeners, and value others’ points of view, and cultures. ​
